Ok let me start by saying, I'm no food blogger, I'm not great at taking photos of the process or romantically narrating a recipe, BUT I love to bake, and I truly believe that not only is food healing but it is a perfect vessel for Magick!
A few days ago my middle (the Sloth) spiked a fever, after the initial freak out ( thanks pandemic) I tucked my sicky into bed and started brainstorming. He really wasn't interested in big meals, but he did eat all his blueberries at lunch! When in doubt I bake , I find that its the perfect activity for me to focus my energy, and intentionally pick ingredients that support my goal, which in this case was a speedy recovery and a lot of motherly love.
Although I made blueberry muffins today id like to note that this recipe is a good base for most berries ( i.e mulberry, blackberry, raspberry etc.) I'd like to say I'm an organized baker with all my ingredients set out ahead of time in pretty little ceramic bowls , but even the thought makes me laugh. I am more of a … doesn't actually know if she has all the ingredients needed until its too late kind of baker; so although the recipe below calls for sour cream I am often out and have learned to substitute it for a reduced amount of cream cheese.

Stirring In Intention
Kitchen Witchery doesn't have to be complicated ( unless you want to make it that way haha) A great way to start adding a little Magick into nearly any recipe is by stirring intention into your food. In this case I was concentrating on my middle feeling better, having a speedy recovery and feeling like themselves; so as i focused on these intentions I stirred my ingredients clockwise adding the Magick right in ( want to remove something intention wise? Stir counter- clockwise)
Ingredient Correspondence
Another great way to add Magick into your food is through the actual Ingredients! You can google hundreds of different correspondences, there are books and books ( many of which I also own haha) filled with lists and charts, or you can make your own based off family history, folklore, that gut feeling. These are some of mine for this recipe:
Blueberries
Element: Water & Earth Planetary: Moon Properties: Protection, Beauty, Calm, Freedom, Mothers Love
Cinnamon
Element: Fire Planetary: Sun Properties: Protection, Speed, Good Luck
Vanilla Element: Water Planetary: Venus Properties: Calming, Love, Balance
In the end I find that Kitchen witchery is about allowing myself time to slow down as each part is about intentionally adding the magick I desire.

When the sloth woke up we set off to make our muffins, it was quick and fun as they kept checking the oven asking when they would be done. I fought him to wait for it to cool and in the end he ate a whole muffin while giggling and playing at the table and continues to be on the mend.
