It's autumn, and you know what that means—boot season! 🍂👢 And while I'll admit, I didn’t invent boot charms (there are tons of adorable ones on Etsy), I thought, why not shake it up and make my own—but with a twist. Let’s enchant them! ✨
Enchanting is the act of taking everyday items and infusing them with magickal energy and intention to serve a specific purpose. It’s like giving the object a job.
Because it can be done on almost anything enchanting is a great tool especially for those that have more of an incognito practice. You could enchant candles, jewelry, hats, your cup of tea, or in this case boot charms!
Ready? Let’s dive into how to make your own badass enchanted boot charms!
What You’ll Need:
Charms of choice (you can use one or you can use many!)
Ribbon (another great way to incorporate your intention with color correspondence)
Clasp or ring
Incense (for cleansing)
Optional: Hot glue (to lock it all down)
Step 1: Cleanse the Charms
Before we dive in, you’ll want to give your charms a quick cleanse. I chose pine smoke for this. Let the smoke swirl around the charms, pushing out any old energy and making room for the new.

Step 2: String the Charms
Now it’s time to bring your charms together. Grab a clasp or ring and slide those bad boys on. I went with a clasp that opens, so I can swap out charms if need be. But if you want to keep it simple, use a single closed ring and load up your charms.

Step 3: Wake Up Their Energy
Time to wake up those charms! This is a great opportunity to call in any guides or deities you'd like to be honor or be apart of the process. Hold the charms in your hands, shake them a bit between your palms, or warm them up with your touch. Close your eyes and imagine the energy coming to life inside them—like an aura that starts glowing from within.
Step 4: Set Your Intention
Pick a word (or two) that matches your focus—think "protection," "courage," or "prosperity" Whisper your chosen word four times out loud, letting each repetition charge your charms with that intention. With every whisper, imagine the energy in your charms getting stronger, the aura you imagined growing wider and wider. Thank your guides for their help and now its time to add them to your boots!
Step 5: Attach the Charms to Your Boots
Thread the ring onto your ribbon of choice—I went with a burnt orange because it felt the most Autumn to me. Tie the ribbon around the loop of your boots in a messy but cute bow. To make sure it stays put, add a little hot glue to the knot. If you’re not feeling the ribbon, go for a simpler look and just hook the charms onto a key ring or a chain and clip them on.

Now You’re Ready to go!
